(More customer reviews)Grinds easily using pulse starts and stops or using a constant and steady grind.For me, 9 pulses makes a perfect consistency to use with my French Press.This grinder would work just as well for a drip machine, my last several coffee makers.

I think the slight internal angle of the base of the bean hopper does help rotate the beans better for grinding. It's same as the principle of shaking the beans a little during grinding.

The shape makes it easier to get a grip on the outside.I have a more secure hold of the grinder as I dump the beans. Plus it's an interesting design in an organic way.It's a well thought out design, typical of the Bodum line of products.That was money well spent.This is a great grinder.
